About Parapom

I have been involved with animals, especially dogs for most of my life.  I whelped my first bitch, a Springer Spaniel called Lucy when I was just fourteen years old.  I do not know who was was most frightened, me or Lucy.  Anyway she proceeded to produce seven healthy pups.  I wanted to keep them all but was not allowed to keep any.

As I grew older, my brother and myself became very involved in Whippet racing, going up and down the country most weekends to race meetings.  The Whippets all stayed with us as they retired from racing and they gave us much fun and pleasure.

I then moved to my present home, taking my Border Collies with me.  I started breeding the Collies very successfully and I always had a waiting list for my pups, which were the old fashioned type of border Collie.  I then retired the Collies and they lived their lives out with me on my smallholding which they loved.

I became involved with the Pomeranian breed about 20 years ago.  I can always remember reading a book about Pomeranians that said "Once you have a Pomeranian you will always have one".  They are very addictive and special little dogs, all with their own little personalities and funny little ways.  I adore them all.

Whenever I have a litter of pups with these little dogs I feel like like I am having the pups for them.  Afterwards it is so fascinating and exciting watching them grow up, better than television any day.

I have had quite a lot of success in showing my Pomeranians and I do occasionally have puppies for sale to selected homes.  The colours I am breeding at the moment are Orange, Orange sable, Cream sable and Blacks.  I have recently started my dream of breeding parti coloured poms after importing two in from America i have a boy and a girl that i will be showing shortly both showing good potential one is by both American dogs and the other by Casanova my American Parti dog and his mum an English parti carrying girl.
My children as i call them are looked after by myself, and my German Shepherd Bridie who guards us all.
